Happy 2008 HubBubbers! We all had a nice long break for the holidays.
It was great to sleep in, watch movies and eat junk food for a while
but that can get kinda old so now it's good to be back in business over
here! The Showroom calender is packed for the next few months. Hope
you're planning to come out. The Everybodfields on Friday and the Art
of the Street Show on Saturday should be killer. Check out the new mural
on the side of the warehouse next time you drive by. The AIR program
is in an exciting stage of the year as we're beginning to receive the
first of what we expect to be many AIR 2008-2009 applications. The deadline
is February 15th so if you know of any talented young artists who should
apply, send 'em our way!
Our current AIRs arrived in
Spartanburg from their respective holiday vacation locations last week
(wow) and haven't missed a beat. Arielle is painting away as usual.
She's also committed to getting more college kids over to HubBub and
is working with students from local schools to get that going. Derya
stayed in Spartanburg for the holidays and staged an art jail of sorts.
Her knitting classes are up and running again. If you missed last night
(January 8), make sure to come out on the 22nd. She'll also be helping
out with a knitting class at Wofford during the winter interim. Derya
and Nicholas are both working on getting grad school apps out for those
upcoming deadlines. Nichoals is also painting away and back to running
the figure drawing classes. Come out tonight if you can! Rachel is working
away on the HCWP book and getting ready to be a guest speaker in Michigan
next week. Lots going on with these guys. Stay tuned to keep up with
their busy schedules...
See ya soon!
