(sigh) The Labor Day holiday has come and gone.So sad.I'm sad because honestly, it's one of my favorite days of the year. And it makes perfect sense. It's always on a Monday. It usually involves spending time with
friends...getting a final summer sunburn, grilling out, etc.And there are no big expectations. No buying gifts. No planning humongous meals. No hard feelings if you don't have
plans. And, it comes at a time of year when
the weather is changing from unbearably hot to very comfortably cool.Perfect.The Labor Day weekend was a good one for everyone I think.Ellie, Jonas and Sarah spent the end of last
week at Elsewhere where they were sleeping on lofts, showering in an alley (if
they showered at all), hanging out with other artists in forts and being a part
of the whole collaborative scene going on in Greensboro.Patrick stayed in Sparkle City
where he temporarily moved his office...er...workspace down to The Showroom. He had to get geared up to teach his class at
Wofford which started this week. They were
here and there, enjoying their fare share of cookouts, hangin' out and other
good Labor Day activities.Fall is
settin' in...
And September is ramping up.Have you seen HUB-BUB's schedule this month?Aye aye aye.Add personal art/writing projects and community stuff and there's very
little time to sleep. This is Patrick's
first week to teach at Wofford.Jonas
and Ellie will start working with the COLORS Program at Whitlock this week
too.Spark n' Boil is being planned,
Sarah's bike group is being planned, the Seay House is on the horizon, teepee
village is just around the corner...and then there's Art Mart on Saturday!Hope you all can make that.It will be from 3-9pm in the parking lot next
to the Masonic Temple
in downtown Spartanburg. The AIRs are working on projects to sell at
their table and will join over 25 other creative folks who will be selling
their wares.YeeHaw!
