Hello, this is HUB-BUB

Derya and Nicholas' show out at Cannon's Elementary is super sweet.  It's got it all...ghosts, tin can telephones, sketches, hearts, a chair...lots of good pictures on Nicholas' blog.  You should check it out the next time you're out on Cannons Campground Road.  Or you should make a special trip out there on November 14th for the opening.  Doris Turner runs a mean art program at Cannons and has cool new art shows in the school's entrance all the time.  What a good way to promote local artists and to expose Cannon's students to great art.  Thank you Doris.  And thank you Derya and Nicholas for putting it all together.

Other big happenings going on....Arielle is tackling a junkyard painting project.  Check out her blog for photos.  The fear sketchbooks are DONE and will go out with today's mail and be hanging in the ArtHouse gallery in Decatur, Georgia on October 27th.  Derya is talking public art.  Ramadan on Friday should be a real treat around here and she'll show us how its done.  Food and gifts for everyone...can't wait!  A brief moment of silence for ChiChi...the orange and white cat that hung out in our neighborhood and followed our artists to Venice Pie.  Nicholas has been cleaning the letter press.  He's also proposing a figure drawing class...actually...all the artists are proposing a figure drawing class.  Won't that be sweet?  Let us know if you want more information and we'll get it to you as details unfold.  Rachel is editing and writing.  She and Nicholas (and me and Stephen and Brandy Lindsay) will be on WNCW this Thursday the 11th from 3-7pm.  Listen up and call in to pledge your support during WNCW's annual membership drive.  If you're lucky, maybe you'll get to talk to a HUB-BUBer...

 'til next time...
