This is the week. On Thursday at 3pm, the AiRs will begin the (loud echoing voice) “AIR versus AIR Creative Battle to the DEATH.” Come one, come all. You’ll witness death defying painting tricks, daring poetry moves, and terrifying drawing skills all under the roof of the Leader building. Artists will work into the wee hours of the night – fueled by the generous food donations from Monsoon Noodle House, Sonny’s Pizza, Broadway Bagel, and Delaney’s. Little River Roasting will keep AiRs awake and focused with copious cups of fresh and delicious coffee. This is a night not to be missed! Aside from getting ready for the Smack Down, everyone is getting settled here in Sparkle City. Jameelah is working on organizing a group of young local writers like the group she organized back in Lawrence, Kansas. Esteban is awaiting spray paint and scoping out walls for his first mural downtown. Claudia is getting her feet wet with the Healing Arts Council. Gregory is soon to be teaching some drawing/painting. Everyone is getting situated in their studios and making work. Stay tuned into the blogs.
