Gallery Talk

Gallery Talk The AiRs did a great job during last week’s gallery talk. Each gave 15 minute slide presentations about their work before inviting people upstairs to see their studios. Jameelah kicked off the night with an impersonation of her parents – always a crowd pleaser – followed by a beautiful but sad story about the death of a family friend. Claudia talked about the influence of food in her work – particularly pasta. Esteban showed some priceless photographs of his glory days as a performance painter and talked about his explorations of revolutions and theology. Greg referenced Warhol and ancient Greece and modern day technology and friends and family and Leonardo da Vinci and ipods and apples, as all being major influences in his work. Thanks to everyone who came out to show their support.

Fall is a BUSY time around here and it is quickly approaching. The Showroom schedule is amping up. HCWP is in the midst of big projects. AiRs are busy with their personal projects. Community projects are moving right along. Lots of good stuff. And to make things even more exciting…Patrick AND Jonas have moved back to Spartanburg! Yep. Patrick starts his adjunct position at Wofford and Jonas will be teaching an adjunct position at Converse. Jonas will also be one of the art directors over at the Boys and Girls Club. Good job guys! We’re so glad you’re back…
