Today there are over 150 stalks of bamboo on the HUB-BUB
premises. They're drying on shelving
units built from OSB Board leftover from last year's recycled art project. Again, thank you Neely's Lumber. Sarah has been all over town and beyond
chopping down bamboo for her teepee project.
With help from Jonas, we've got a small bamboo forest over here. And then there's the garden. I believe the AIRs each enjoyed 1/4th
of a beautiful yellow squash and 1/4th of a delicious green zucchini
last week. And after cleaning up the
warehouse (which included boarding up pigeon holes and filling Patrick's truck
for Salvation Army runs)...they earned those delicious little summer veggies...
The week looks good over here. Ellie and Sarah are working on a HUB-BUB
video project and preparing for dance classes to prepare for Spark and
Boil. E-mail those ladies if you wanna
be a part of the fun. Patrick is helping
out with a HCWP project and gearing up for the first day of school. His class starts next Monday on Labor
Day. So...while we're all sleeping in,
watching movies and eating doughnuts...he'll be filling young minds with priceless
knowledge. Jonas is shellacking
cardboard collages and helping out with HUB-BUB marketing materials. He and Ellie go back to school next week when
they take over the art room at Whitlock.
If you wanna see the AIRs this week come by today or tomorrow. They're headed to Elsewhere Wednesday through
Saturday.
Peace and hairgrease,
Alix
