The Art Mart and (good) Junk Sale was a huge success on Saturday. Thanks
to everyone who came out to sell their art, to Liz for selling amazing
baked goods, to Barrett for selling delicious Little River coffee, to
our wonderful and hardworking volunteers, to our amazing AIRs and of
course to everyone who came out to show support for local artists and
for Hub-Culture ...thankyouthankyouthank you...let's do it again in the
spring.
It's been a great week. The
cooler weather is refreshing and inspiring. Especially during Derya's
knitting circle...you should see the scarf production that's going on
over here. Last night's class was great with new knitters and veterans
working side by side. Scarves, socks, backpacks and bookshelves were
just a few things being made. You should join us next time (October
2nd from 7-9pm). Arielle has had a busy week. She spent Sunday at the
Synagogue teaching kids about Jewish holidays in the midst of Rosh Hashanah.
She's tackling a new art form in the form of reverse glass painting.
Rachel sent her Fulbright applications off...YAY Rachel...and continues
to work on Poetry Out Loud. Nicholas is painting as usual. His t-shirt
designs are complete and are just awaiting a batch of t-shirts to screenprint
them on. Derya is planning another potluck and fun for Saturday night
- hope ya'll can make it!
That's it for now. I'm off
to Chapel Hill tomorrow for some AIR '08 recruiting. See ya next week...
