For most of the week, I've been sitting on the floor in my living room
pounding coffee and listening to Eek-A-Mouse while sorting through AIR
applications for the next round of residents. Only taking occasional
breaks to use the bathroom, feed the dog and adjust the ipod...I still
have a long way to go. I can't tell you exactly how many we have. Last
Friday, we had 37. On Saturday, 20 more came in. On Tuesday, I think
we got another 30. A few more trickled in yesterday. We've got applications
from all over the US...from Los Angeles to Greer. And artists of all
kinds...from illustrators to painters to food sculptors. It's been a
lot of fun to see and I've still got a ways to go. Stay tuned...
Back at HUB-BUB...things are
pluggin along. The Collegiate Art of Spartanburg opening was a big hit.
Thanks to all the students, teachers, parents and general public who
came out on Saturday night. Good job AIRS on curating a very succesful
show. Next up....the AIR exit show on March 25th (eek!). After that...an
AIR Earth Day project. The AIRs are working diligently to get ready
for their show while also spending a good bit of time on College Street
Team stuff, helping with MAKE DAY, teaching knitting and drawing classes,
working on the HCWP book and general HUB-BUB related madness. Whew.
