four-eyed-monsters

Arin Crumley and Susan Buice made a feature length film called Four Eyed Monsters that tells the true story of how they met online and how he stalked her at her work.  They ended up dating but with a rule to never speak in person. Their lives and minds began to meld and their fantasies and fears manifested as they became a living breathing Four Eyed Monster.        visit the site

Arin and Susan have come to Spartanburg from Brooklyn, NY to live in the Artist-In-Residence studios at HUB-BUB for a few weeks prior to the screening of Four Eyed Monsters. During this time they will be filming HUB-BUB events and getting familiar with the Spartanburg community.

Breaking Away is an Oscar-winning 1979 classic that has remained the crowning film for cycling culture for the last thirty years.  In addition to the Oscar for Best Writing, it won 9 additional awards, including Best Motion Picture from Golden Globes, and was nominated for 9 other awards. Starring a young Dennis Quaid it tells the story of a rivalry between four high-school graduates and the arrogant college students of a small Midwestern town.

Art Mart Recap Etc. 14May2008 The Art Mart and good Junk Sale last Saturday was a hit!  The weather was perfect and with all that was going on around town, we had a lot of folks come out to support local artists and to support Hub-Bub.  Thanks everybody!  We'll do it again in the fall.  Other stuff...Arin from Four Eyed Monsters is living in Derya's apartment until May 23rd.  He arrived in Spartanburg on Sunday after a brief stint in LA.  You may have seen him wandering the streets of our town with his tini little video camera.  Can't wait to see some of his footage.  I've been dressing nicer and speaking with perfect grammer since his arrival.  The Southern accent has increased significantly too.  Gotta represent the Dirty South!  Please come by and meet him...he rocks.
