Amigos de los Amigos by Antonio Garza - 9/22/10 - Wednesday

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Antonio Garza is an award winning writer and performer. His debut one-man show was produced in theater festivals in the US and at L'ogress Theatre in Paris. His essays and stories have appeared in magazines in jounals in the US and Mexico. He is also the founder of Amigos de los Amigos, a peformance and social club that puts on an annual Cinco de Mayo parade. (www.amigosdelosamigos.org)

As Antonio Garza narrates tense and side-splitting experiences from his summer in the Palestinian occupied territories and Israel, he irreverently sees the conflict through a Mexican colored glasses. He openly explores his own loyalties (yes, a love interest or two are involved) as he tries to ask the big questions: In this conflict, who are the gringos? Who are the mojados? Is hummus just a hippie friendly form of refried beans?  His answers will keep you laughing and make you think.
