The Not-So-Calm Before the Storm |

|
I came in bright and early this Wednesday morning with the intention of writing the AIR weekly update first thing. I like my routine and on most Wednesday mornings the AIR weekly update kicks my day off. But here it is 3:30 and I'm pushing things aside to get this puppy out there. It's been a crazy day and a crazy week and there's lots more craziness ahead. The AIRs finished looking at Collegiate Art Exhibition entries on Friday. That show goes up next week. Despite the nasty weather, artists have been filing in today with their work for Arts with Heart (this Friday night at 7 in The Showroom) while the Art of the Street show has been coming down (and into the office as I type). AIR applications are piling up on the desk behind me. The deadline for those is next Friday. Plans for MAKE DAY are well underway. MAKE DAY is the HUB-BUB spring fundraiser...a day of public art making. Shoot me an e-mail if you want to learn more...

The artists are busy as usual. They visited 5 local colleges over the past 2 weeks and looked at over 30 submissions for the Collegiate Art Exhibition. They've narrowed things down and we're real excited for the work that local students will be bringing by in the next week. Arielle is working hard on the College Street Team. She had a meeting last night and another on Thursday. They're moving ahead on their Street Team goals. Very exciting. Derya is shooting images of her work for grad school applications which are due next week. She's been helping me with some design tutorials for computer stuff. Thank you Derya! Nicholas plugs away at paintings and prints and is geared up for figure drawing tonight. He'll be helping hang the Arts with Heart show on Friday. This is Rachel's big week for Poetry OutLoud. The other AIRs have been helping her and will be around for the big event on Saturday. Whew...until next Wednesday.
