Here Comes the Bride

Here Comes the Bride 3October2007So much is happening these days that its hard to keep track of it all.  Saturday night we all helped celebrate Sara and Brad's marriage during their lovely wedding ceremony which took place in their backyard beneath two huge oak trees.  The weather was perfect, the classical guitar was perfect, the bride and groom were glowing...the whole things was...well...perfect.  Sara and Brad have two scarecrows from last years Scarecore Wedding that lean against their fence in the backyard.  They asked the artists to play in a band of kazoos to que the start of the ceremony.  We hummed our best rendition of "Here Comes The Bride"...and if I do say so myself, it was pretty darn good.  The ceremony really reminded me what a unique and amazing community we have here.  Thanks Sara and Brad for letting us all be a part of your big day.

In other news...I got back from recruiting in Savannah last Wednesday.  I gave a presentation in the Red Gallery to about 20 students from SCAD, a couple professors, and someone from the career services department.  The Hub-Bub AIR program is such an amazing opportunity and we have to get the word out!  Arielle spent her first afternoon with kids from the Deaf and Blind School on Monday.  They took a fieldtrip to Greenville for a performance by the kids.  Derya hosted another fabulous Open Knit on Tuesday night after she and Nicholas spent the afternoon hanging their show at Cannon's Elementary.  The first opening for that is Friday morning from 11-1pm and then one on the evening of November 14th.  Rachel spent Friday at USC Upstate talking to students about editing and the creative writing process.  She helped out on Monday night with the George Singleton book launch over here at The Showroom.

That's about it for me this week.  Check out the AIRs blogs and come see us.
