Hub-Bub Bowl-O-Rama 5December2007 Get excited because this is just a small sampling of what you have to look forward to at the HUB-BUB Bowl-O-Rama on Monday night (December 10th).  Our artists-in-residents along with 28 other talented artists have turned bowling balls into amazing works of art.  This little beauty belongs to Derya.  We'll have a silent auction from 7-9 pm.  You won't want to miss it.  Also - come out for BYOA on Saturday night.  Some of our AIRs will have their work for sale beside a bunch of other local artists.  Just in time for the holidays!  Oh - if you haven't seen them already, check out the bowling balls on www.flickr.com/photos/hub-bub/

Mmmmm.....Pie 28November2007 I think we all had some good r-n-r over the Turkey Day break.  The AIRs all left for a few days to visit family and friends...see updates on their blogs.  We closed The Showroom doors last Wednesday morning and didn't open them again until Monday.  Hence - the missing AIR Weekly Update from last week (sorry) which sat on my office computer while I slept, ate, hung out with the fam, etc.  Check out the soupy pumpkin pie that the Refshauge clan enjoyed for Thursday lunch.  Mmmm...good job Charles.  Anyway...it's back to business as usual and we have a lot on our calenders the next few weeks...

Wow - what a weekend!  Friday night was a pretty amazing show at The Showroom with Holiday Childress of the Goodies.  It was one of the most theatrical and entertaining shows I've been to in a long time...that Holiday is one talented guy.  Then we all headed over to the Nu Way to hear one of our all time favorite bands...Menage.  Those guys/girls rock too!  Saturday night a bunch of HubBub folks went to Kerry's play: "Connect" at Wofford.  It was amazing.  Justin and Emily were down because Justin did the sound and lights for the show and Emily was reading at the library on Sunday.  Thanks to Betsy and John for hosting a wonderful brunch on Sunday morning...wish I could've been there but have been enjoying the baked goods in the office all week...

The Art of Drawing a Crowd 14November2007  There have been lots of people in the Showroom lately.  If you were at HUB-BUB on Saturday you witnessed the 3rd Talk20 that Cate Ryba has organized over here.  It was truly awesome.  Thanks Cate and Aaron.  There were 10 presenters...many were regular Hub-Bubbers...Rachel, Sara, and I all spoke.  See Rachel's blog for photos from her presentation...pretty dern funny.  HUB-BUB Flickr account has photos from everyone else.  For mine, I took on the alter ego of "Amalia" and explained 16 "new things" I've done over the past few months.  Highlights being...baking bread, changing a tire, and eating a Marmite sandwich.  Crazy!
