Gregory - Update 2011

Greg - December 2010

Updated January 2011 -

"Upon returning to Salt Lake City, I rented a studio from a space provided by the arts collective known as the Pickle Company. Besides a brief visit to New York City to attend a wedding, I painted in the Pickle Company Building during the summer and the experience culminated in an open studio night with the other artists working in the space along with performances and live music. In mid-August I moved to Chicago.
I am pursuing an MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, majoring in Painting and Drawing. I have three semesters left.  "

Arielle - Update 2011

Arielle - December 2010

Updated January 2011-

"Since I left Hub-Bub I went to Nepal for 5 months to work with an Israeli NGO called Tevel b'Tzedek (www.tevelbtzedek.org). There, I learned Nepali and worked at a shelter for victims of domestic violence and at a drop-in center for sex workers or women at-risk of becoming sex workers. I worked with an Israeli psychologist to develop art therapy programs as well as other creative programming to help the women gain confidence and express their feelings. After the program was over, I traveled in India for 6 weeks.

I moved back to Miami where I was the project manager on a large-scale participatory public art project called Endangered World (www.xaviercortada.com/?EW_BNP), which was on view for several months at Biscayne National Park in Homestead. As part of this project, I led workshops all over the city, facilitating group discussions about personal actions people can take in their own lives to help the environment, and then helping people turn those discussions into works of art.

When the project went up in the park in March, I moved back to New York and took up my old jobs in arts administration, working at both MUSE Film and Television (www.musefilm.org) and The Matisse Foundation (http://www.matissefoundation.org).

Currently, I am pursuing my MFA at Columbia University, and getting my start-up Ketuv off the ground, which offers hand-made custom ketubahs (Jewish marriage contracts) as well as editioned prints. (You can see examples of some of my ketubahs here: www.ketubahsbyarielle.com.)"
